Montebello is a
school with a history
- The Picchetti Family worked
cooperatively with their neighbors to open the school in
1892
- A visit here is like a trip back in
time. One of the few remaining agricultural areas in
Cupertino, Montebello has remained nearly unchanged since
the school's inception over a century ago to provide
education to the local farming community. A three-room
mountain schoolhouse serving about 25
students overlooks the entire Silicon Valley from Moffett
Field to Almaden. The campus, whose land was donated by local
ranch families, includes three
classrooms, an office, soccer field, library and several
computer labs with dedicated high speed connection to the
Internet.
