School News
Dear Montebello Parents:
I am pleased to welcome all new and returning students and
their families to Montebello Elementary School. I hope you had a
wonderful summer and are ready for a terrific new school year.
START SPREADING THE NEWS…..Montebello School is the best kept
secret in the Santa Clara Valley.
The School Board and district staff, Enriqueta, Don, Margarita,
and Roberto have worked very hard on our school to give it a
refreshed look.
Projects completed:
- Technology upgrades
- All new windows
- Classrooms freshly painted
- Carpets cleaned
- A complete cleaning of the facility
- A newly designed teaching/ conference/training room
- A newly designed school library
There is still much to do, but the work of the summer session
is complete.
Please stop by and look. We take great pride in our school.
Curriculum Update…….As you know the STAR Test results are here
and we are working very hard to design the best instructional
program for your children.
All of our programs are standards based and standards based
report cards report your child’s progress to you. These
standards can be viewed on the web at
www.cde.ca.gov.
We are designing a staff development plan to support our
students. Areas of focus are: Second Language Development,
History/ Social Science and the Arts. The teachers have been
working very hard this summer, and have created a curriculum to
follow through out the year. They will be sharing their
implementation plans at Back to School Night.
At BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT you will have an opportunity to meet
with your child’s teacher and learn about grade level goals for
the year.
September 6th
At 6:00 p.m we will all gather in our Senior Room.
Children may attend. The evening will be filled with
information. I’m sure you find the presentations extremely
interesting and beneficial.
We hope you will find the Montebello Handbook useful. You will
find important school policies and procedures, phone numbers and
dates. Please read it with your child and keep it in a handy
place so you can refer to it through out the year.
You may have noticed the Montebello Red cover. Through out the
year you will be receiving school information printed on RED
paper. RED paper signifies important messages.
The Montebello Staff and I believe that only in an atmosphere of
mutual trust and respect between teachers and parents, can we
develop students who demonstrate a healthy self concept and a
“lifelong love of learning.”
Let your child’s teacher be the first one to know when you have
a concern.
I am looking forward to a very exciting and rewarding school
year, as we work together to continue to provide an outstanding
education for our students.
Remember KEEP SPREADING THE NEWS……..
Montebello School is an important part of your child’s
life!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Barbara Wagner
